5 Arr. Hotel to Versailles

We're staying at Hotel Bonaparte (6th arr.) and are planning to go to Versailles. What is the nearest/easiest train/metro that we can take going to Versailles? Is it advisable to get the combo train/museum or pay for the train and museum separately? If combo, where do you buy them? Thanks.

If you do not have an RATP transit pass, the Versailles Forfait Loisirs is the best buy.

You will probably walk to the RER station at St-Michel Notre-Dame, buy your Forfait there, and take the C train to Versailles Rive Gauche.

Thanks, Robespierre. Btw, what is a RATP transit Pass? Is Forfait Loisirs the combo ticket/museum? Do you have any idea how much?

Yes, the Forfait Loisirs is the transportation plus museum combo. For Versailles the price is 19 EUR.

A single ticket on the Metro/RER to Versailles from central Paris is 2.75 EUR each way. Go to www.chateauversailles.fr to get information on admission prices, etc.

There are several kinds of transit passes, all covering a variety of zones. Examples are Carte Orange, Mobilis, and Paris Visite. Since Versailles is in zone 4, you would need a zone 1-4 pass to get to Versailles.

Hi C,

If you don't wish to walk, take the No. 4 Metro (dir Clignancourt) from the St. Sulpice stop to St. Michele.
