5-6 nights in Piemonte...should we stay in one spot or two?
My husband and I are traveling to Europe for our 10th anniversary, and for part of our trip, we'll be in Piemonte. Our dilemma is that while we are 90% sure we'd like to spend at least part of our time at the Baur B&B in Acqui Terme for some R&R and countryside charm, we are also thinking that we don't want to be forced to drive to every place we want to go for dinner (we are eonophiles/foodies so local food and wine is our main draw to the region!), so we are are thinking of staying part of the time in the town of Alba, so we can walk to dinners and wine tasting in the afternoons/evenings.
So my question is this: Although it is probably desirable for most travelers to stay in one spot for a particular segment of a trip, would 3 nights outside of Acqui Terme + 2-3 nights in Alba town be a good mixtrue of countryside R&R and strolling italian streets at night after dinner after enjoying a bottle of vino? Or should we just pick one or the other?
