This year Easter falls on the same day for both
|
Greeks and Orthodox religions have a different date for Easter than do Christians?
Greek Orthodox aren't Christians? Did you read that in the Guardian, PalenQ? :-D :-D And yes, some years the dates coincide, including 2010 and 2011. |
Heimdall - brain fart - I meant the Catholics and their subsequent schisms - no I know both are Christians but just use a different calendar or formula or whatever makes the Orthodox get Easter and Christmas wrong!
|
Which one is wrong? Depends on which branch you belong to! :O
My twig-branch-offshoot (Quakers) until late 1800s taught that both are wrong, as "holidays", since all days should be "Holy Days"... Now I celebrate both ... |
And you are only half right on your last post, PalenQ. Greek Orthodox celebrate Christmas on Dec 25th, same as the RC and Protestant churches. In Russia, Christmas is on Jan 7th. ;-)
