4-Star Paris Hotel on Right-Bank?

Hi there,
I'm taking my Mom to Paris for a week in June (high season, I know!) and am seeking suggestions for a Right-Bank, 3/4-star hotel. I am willing to spend up to $250/night. I'm horribly nervous. Mom has never been to Paris before and I don't want to screw up the accomodations. Mom wants a "classic" Paris experience. Any thoughts?

Hi sr,

$250/nite is at the low end of 4* hotels on the Rt Bank.

Check www.parisby.com and www.venere.com for an idea of what to expect.

>Mom wants a "classic" Paris experience.<

I''s look at accomodations on Ile St. Louis or in the 6th arrond.

Enter <"ile st. louis" and hotel> in the "search this forum" box.

Fjor a pleasant 3* on the Right Bank, check out the Mansart. It's just off the Place Fendôme and shares a wall with the Ritz. The atmosphere is Old Paris, with antique furnishings and roms larger than the Paris norm. The hotel is very nicely located--walking distance to the Louvre, for example, and near good restaurants.

The web site is

Check out Hotel Cambon (www.cambon-hotel.com); privately owned by a French woman with a gracious staff. Superb location for your mom; metro across the street, English bookstore a few steps away, and Chez Flottes across the the street (reasonably priced Brasserie). And of course, the Louvre is a block away etc.
