4 nights in Tuscany - Impruneta

My husband and I are spending 4 nights, 5 days in Tuscany in mid-July. Can anyone help me with some ideas with what we must and must not see? We both love wine and cooking.

If you are in Impruneta you must visit the pottery factories. Of course, you will have to resist the desire to bring home those massive urns, but they do have small items. There is a small factory close the the square where they let me sit and watch them handbuild some large pots.

If you love wine then head to Montalciano and do a wine tasting in castle walls that surrond this wonderful hilltown. You can also visit lots of winery's in the area including Banf Winery. This area is called the Val d' Orica area of southern Tuscany and is simply breathtaking! Rent a car so you have flexibility and can see Pienza and Montepulciano too! You simply must try the Brunello wine. Considered the best Italy has to offer!

Yes, definitely visit Montalcino for the Brunello and many other fabulous wines. Be sure to have dinner at Grappolo Blu, wonderful, traditional Tuscan Contadini dishes.

Good advice about Montalcino if you want to drive about 1:20 each way. I would opt for several hill towns a bit closer.

If Montalcino is too far...can you suggest somewhere closer? We don't mind driving...but if we've been having wine, it may not be the wisest thing to do...
