4 nights in Sorrent

We are spending 4 nights in Sorrento in late October, planning to arrive by train from Naples. That means we have 3 full days to explore and I would love to hear suggestions.

We want to spend one day visiting Capri. And Herculaneum is high on our list. We visited Pompeii on a day trip 13 years ago, so we can pass on another visit. What other highlights would anyone suggest?

Have you been to Ravello? The archaeology museum in Naples?

Since you already have two of your three days already planned why don't you spend the last day in Sorrento just exploring the town. There is lots to see there. Have you seen the Gorge with the mills? Have you walked in the back alleys? The first half of this photo album is all Sorrento. Lots to see

Maybe we will spend the last day in Sorrento. Is it likely to be crowded around Oct 24?

no - not too crowded. Its a nice town ... personally though, I would do a day trip to Amalfi/Ravello/Positano.

Herculaneum will not take more than a half day. Continue on to Naples and see the Archeology Museum where all the fine artefacts and frescoes from Pompeii and Herculaneum are now preserved. While you are there, grab a pizza where the modern pizza was invented. Or take an excursion to Vesuvius.

By the way, the three day ArteCard tutta la regione will cover the first two admisssions, half off the remainder, and your local transportation. It's a good value.
