4 hours at CDG
 

We arrive from the US at 9:40am, and our TGV train to Tours leave at 1:40pm.

I believe we arrive at CDG 2A. I'm thinking of spending the time lounging around (or napping) at the Sheraton lobby sofas, and having lunch at Brasserie Flo (at CDG 2F).

If you have better suggestions or ideas, please let me know. We are looking for some place that's quiet (no constant annoucements of plane departures) and comfortable to relax in.

Any other lunch ideas apart from Brasserie Flo? How about the restaurants inside Sheraton? We don't want any place too expensive or dressy (remember, we're jet-lagged and porrly dressed).

the hyatt´s lobby was more conducive to lounging IMHO than the sheraton´s but it is off site, only a few minutes by their bus.. but still..

the sheraton is fairly void (purposely i believe) of many comfy sofas!

you really won´t have too much time with lunch and all.

The breakfast buffet at the Hilton (CDGVAL's T3 stop) looks good, but I didn't have it as it's something like 25EUR.

I believe hotels in France almost always set their breakfast buffet price (per person) to be about 1/10 of the regular room rate (per room). So, a buffet at a 80EUR Ibis costs 8EUR, while the one at the 250EUR Hilton costs 25EUR (regardless how cheap one gets the room from Priceline).

Lunch prices may actually be a little more reasonable.

Too bad Priceline doesn't sell meal tickets! :D

Time really flies at CDG!

Last time, thanks to the signage, we ended up going through security twice.

Anyone ate at Brasserie Flo?

It's a chain; we have eaten at one in Paris, and the food is good.

You won't have nearly as much time as you think.

We're back from our trip. Here's a follow up to what we did:

Our flight from the US actually was delayed for almost an hour, so we only had 3 hours at CDG.

After sitting on the plane for 10+ hours, we decided to walk from 2A to TGV station. We had to exchange our AA flight "coupon" for our TGV ticket to Tours (we booked our flight on AA as Dallas to Tours). There is a dedicated counter (No.13) in the SNCF ticket office for this - called the TGV/Air.

Then we walked to 2F and had lunch at Brasserie Flo. Food was pretty good though a bit pricey.

After lunch, we still had another 45 minutes before our train leaves, so we sat at the train station.

We didn't go inside the Sheraton. From the outside, it appears that there is a "guard" standing at the entrance - probably to ward off folks like us who just want to sit at the sofa.

I ate there last year during the long layover from Nice/CDG/ATL. The food was good and not cheap. I would go again if I have 2-3 hours inside the airport.

The Sheraton sofa seating, the best that I can remember from our brief stays at the CDG Sheraton, was actually a long banquette with tables. In other words, I assume you'd be expected to order, not sit.
