4 hour cdg layover

we are arrving at cdg (term 2A)at 7:40 on a fri am and then have to wait til 12:45 for a tvg train to strasbourg. any suggestions on what to do in the airport for 4 hours? we are traveling with 2 children (11,7). does anyone know if we will have access to the first class lounge? i am thinking you can pick up your bags and then get to the lounge without going thru security? i'd appreciate any info!

Expect to do nothing and to have no access to a lounge. Four hours is not much time anyway if you are arriving on a transcontinental flight.

Hi M,

Ditto Kerouac.

There are cafes and shopping near the train station.

i was thinking we'd get thru immigration, etc. quickly and have lots of time to kill. thanks

You will get through immigration quickly, but you won't have all that much time to kill.

Gettin through immigraation can be quick or slow (I've had it take more than an hour when several planes, landed at once. then you'll need to collect you luggage and hed through customs - and find you way to the rail station. You will have time for a little shopping or a quick snack - but probably not much else.

Are you flying in the front of the plane? If so you MAY have access to an arrivals lounge where you can relax a bit, grab a coffee and snack and maybe even shower. Ask the agent that meets your plane.

my friends are flying in the front so i think we will have access to a lounge. i am thinking that's the best place to kill some time.

To avoid an unpleasant surprise you may want to check with the airline in advance. The airline has to pay a per person fee for use of the arrival lounge and usually does this only for those who are actually flying first class, not all members of their party. Not sure if all airlines do this, either.
