4 * Hotels in Rome

I am looking for a 4* hotel in Rome for 3 days in June in the $250.00 price range in a convenient location. On the message boards and in the "rants and raves" there are a lot of very different opinions on the same properties. I would love to find a hotel in this category in which the reviews are all generally good. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hotel Raphael, on a quiet street less than a block from Piazza Navonna. Splendid location. Beautiful hotel. Elegant rooms. Kind and welcoming staff. My only negative is the overpriced breakfast, but would rather do that in the Piazza on my own anyway!!
Sometimes you can get special rates through the Summit Hotels website, by the way.

Also Intercontinental Hotel De La Ville at Via Sistina has some promotional rates, some are business offers, and some, weekend rates.

Another nice 4 stars is Hotel White, close to the Trevi Fountain, and another option is Del Senato, a 3 stars with a 4 stars feel. Other hotel I recommend is the Albergo Nazionale ( not the Hotel delle Nazione nor Hotel Internazionale). The rooms are large, very classy, and the location is perfect, at Piazza de Montecitorio.

There's also the Grand Hotel Plaza. I didn't like it, although the lobby is magnificent as are the breakfast room and the reception lounge marble stairs. The rooms, however, are a little shabby in my opinion. The bathrooms are large and marble tiled, but I found the plumbimg out dated. It has got mixed reviews, although some Fodorites rave about it.

I hope it helps,

S

Hotel Rex on via Torino is quite nice. Not too far from main train station but far enough to be out of the hurley burley. Very nice rooms, good breakfast service, and good access to all area. It has web page if you search for it.

ebs--
I'll bet you'll find no complaints about my favorite, the La Residenza, on via Emilia, just a block or so off the Via Veneto, in a nice quiet neighborhood and a short walk from the Spanish steps. You'll also find it to be under your budget. If you drive and make plans to park your car there ahead of time, you can usually park it right in the front patio of the hotel. The staff all speak good English, the breakfasts are great (and included in the price unless you want special stuff). They can also arrange ahead of time to have guides for Vatican tours, city tours, etc. In all, a great hotel that is small enough (about 20 rooms) to be personal and enjoyable.

Forgot to mention the e-mail for La Residenza is [email protected].

Or maybe that La Residenza e-mail is [email protected]. Forgot which one, but it's probably the dot com.
