4 days itinerary for Germany
 

Dear All;

I am visiting Germany in Oberhausen on 5th Nov for Business purpose. I have 01 day planned visit for workshop on 6th and then have 4 days for sightseeing, till 10th Nov and on 11th return flight.
Please guide me where to visit in Germany in these 4 days starting from Oberhausen. Also guide me if Belgium can be added for 01 day during this time. I have no problem sleeping in train during night for longer travels.

There are hundreds of possibilities. Tell us at least what you are interested in.

It really depends on your interests. You'll be near Köln so definitely stop and see the cathedral (Köln Dom).

Are you interested in beer and meat?

wine, walking, cycling, ferry boats?

i am more interested in beautiful sightseeing. Not interested in Meat/Bear because of Muslim.
Also love to see good shopping streets.

Since you're Muslim, look for Döner restaurants to eat at. Many of them are Halal (they will have their Halal certification on the wall).

Köln has some interesting sights, including many Roman ruins.

You might enjoy Trier, some fine Roman ruins, great shopping, in a pretty valley and the birth place of Karl Mark

Aachen is fairly close and you can see the church where the Emperors of the Holy Roman Empire were coronated.

How about Amsterdam, one of the world's most beautiful cities and only a few hours from Oberhausen by train? something for every one there. And great shopping and nearly everyone it seems speaks uncannily fluent English, always a plus if not speaking the local tongue -

You could easily hop over to Berlin, a fascinating city with lots of what you want.

Or take an overnight train to say Zurich, Switzerland and head for the Alpine Wonderland like found in the Jungfrau Region - though November is off-season there with many gondolas, etc closed for repair.

If Amsterdam and bent on being in Belgium one day - do a day trip by train in just a few hours to Antwerp, one of Europe's unique and nicest cities.

Overnight trains will take you from Oberhausen or somewhere nearby like Cologne to Munich, Vienna, Zurich and for the present Copenhagen and Paris (if those two are not yet axed but are due to be at some time).
