St Peter's will be added in there somewhere - but not the Vatican museums.

And we are staying next to the Pantheon so that is a given.

A few years ago we took my grandkids (6 and 9 at the time). 6 yr old granddaughter's favorite place was the Sistine Chapel. 9 yr old grandson's was Ostia Antica (her second favorite).

Looks pretty good to me. As you know, it's likely to be warm (okay, hot) and you'll want to have some down time. Use the buses or even taxi's to save your energy when necessary.

We had good luck getting to St. Peter's first thing to beat the crowds.

Thanks for the feedback so far.

I was thinking of doing Ostia Antica, but there is just so much to do in Rome "proper" that I want to stay there the entire trip.

St. Peter's first things sounds good. If I can;t wake up my gang - I can go alone!

jamierin, I apologize for posting here but I would like to get in touch with you but I don't know how. You commented on my posting with regards to the Harbour House Hotel. I wish we could PM on Fodors. Is there a way for us to get in touch?
Again, I apologize for posting on your Italy post.

I want to bookmark this since we'll be in Rome in August with our kids, ages 7 & 9.

I thought that the Borghese Gallery was the place that didn't allow children, but I googled it and also quickly skimmed their website and I didn't see anything about minimum age for entry. I'm most likely thinking of something else, but if I'm not, I hope someone else will comment, for my sake as much as yours. I wonder what I'm thinking of??

Enjoy!

Scavi tour at the Vatican perhaps? That's the only thing I can think of.

Kids are definitely allowed in the Borghese.

With the addition of St. Peter's, which will wow both you and the kids, this is a well planned tour. You sensibly give yourself some mid-day rest and avoid overcrowding the schedule. Well done.
