Pwabbott,
Eveidently the location that we stayed in is no longer on that website. When I get home tonight I may be able to locate it again. Our hosts were aged so maybe they are having a problem keeping up with the flow of guests. |
Hi
Don't miss Honfleur. It is a wonderful place to visit. We had some of the best mussels we ate during our trip to Honfleur, Normandy and Mt. Ste. Michel. While in MSM we did a day trip to Dinan, which is a very nice city. |
Pwabbott,
This is where we stayed http://www.frenchwayoflife.net/int/h...p?ref=fontaine. Have a nice trip. |
Anyone have the france train website?

I've stayed near MSM & I've stayed on MSM & on is so much better. It's so often foggy that you may not have any view of it at all. I'm not clear on the exact dates you'll be there but check out the tide table.
http://www.ot-montsaintmichel.com/ho..._juin08_gb.htm For example in June, the tides are high only on 6/5 & 6/21 with the 5th being much more dramatic. In Bayeux I would recommend Les 3 Pierre http://www.les3pierre.com/ Bon voyage |

We stayed at Chateau d'Audrieu outside of Bayeux this summer and it was nice. It has beautiful grounds and a swimming pool. Continental breakfast is weird, the dinner in the restaurant was very nice. It took about 10 minutes to drive to Bayeux from the Chateau. We had a lovely and unique and very french dinner at the very small restaurant in Bayeux called Le Petit Bistro. One morning, we checked out of Chateau d'Audrieu, drove into Bayeux to see the Tapestry (takes less than one hour) then drove to Mont St. Michel and spent the night at La Mere Poulard. It was a pretty long drive but we arrived at Le Mont in late afternoon, which was early enough to have a crepe and tour the Abbey and stroll the streets with the crowds, everything you need to do there. Then, the crowds all left, the Abbey was lit up beautifully, and we enjoyed dinner and a drink in the bar at La Mere Poulard, which is called "Le Bar". Left early the next morning and drove back to Paris.

You will have quicker response from Hotel St. Pierre if you fax them for a reservation. This is true of many French hotels, I've found...don't know why.
They have a demi-pension availabe, even for just one night's stay, which we found to be very reasonable. Food was quite good with nice variety of dishes for each course. Breakfast buffet includes crêpes made on the premises. |
Where would you recommend eating in Honfleur. We would like a good place for lunch.
Thanks |
I think you can book the St. Pierre through venere

Another idea near Gold Beach, close to Bayeux is Le Mas Normand, in Ver Sur Mer.
