4 Days in Malta from tomorrow: Itinerary Help ASAP!
I am leaving for 4 days in Malta tomorrow and would really appreciate any general tips on what I can do: I'm spending 2 days on Gozo and 2 days in St. Juliens. We will have a car.
I know I want to do Valletta, maybe Comino. Want to eat some delicious food and take in the culture, ruins etc!
Also, we arrive in MLA at 3 PM and will drive from there to the ferry in Cirkewwa: is there anything we can stop at on the way to the ferry (I heard it's a 40 min drive?)? Also are there any good places to eat dinner on the way there, or somewhere in Cirkewwa?
Restaurant advice and tips on places to see would be much appreciated!
Thanks everyone!

Hi Niomi
Whilst you are in Gozo you can visit the following sites and areas:
Ggantija Temples - in Xaghra (the oldes free standing buildings in the world)
The Citadel in Victoria the capital city of Gozo and the capital itself.
Dwejra Bay - is home to some breathaking views
Ta Pinu Cathedral - Limits of Gharb Gozo
Ta Cenc is a place of natural beauty
Xlendi and Marsalforn are great to dine and unwind next to the sea. There are a couple of good restaurants and bars.
Xlendi - The boathouse serves good food
Marsalforn - Beppe`s Restaurant and Il Kartell are great
If you would like to swim go to Ramla Bay - limits of Nadur or Hondoq Bay - limits of Qala. They are both great.
Whilst being in Malta you must )) visit the following:
Valletta many attractions such as Grand Master Palace, St John Co- Cathedral, Casa Rocca Piccola and Upper Barrakka Gardens.
Mdina a lovely Medieval city dominating the skyline of Malta
Hal Saflieni Hypogeum in Paola and Mnajdra temples in Qrendi
Vittoriosa a lovely village next to the sea with alot of historical attractions.
If you would like to swim go to Ghadira bay in Mellieha or Golden Bay in Mellieha as well.
By the way it should not take you more than an hour or so to get to the ferry.
I hope you enjoy your stay in lovely Malta.

Thanks, I went to Valletta today and did all you said! It was definitely worth it, although unfortunately the States Rooms in the palace were closed!
Also had a great lunch at a restaurant on Old Bakers St called "Capistrano."
Am sad there were no tickets available for Hypogeum so we couldn't do that. We actually only ended up getting 1.5 days on the main island: most of it was spent in Gozo and Comino!

I`m planning to visit Malta mid-late March. Is it best to stay on the main island and take day trips to the smaller islands, or should I book separate accom.on each island? I`m thinking of a 4/6 day timetable in total. When I leave Malta I`d like to return to a Paris via Barcelona, Sardinia & Corsica, by ferry, stopping 3/4 days in each place. Is this practical?

You can't book accommodation on Comino. It's a nature preserve and is essentially uninhabited, except for 4 or 5 caretakers.
Gozo is interesting and can be done as a day trip or by staying there. If you are there for 6 days, you could split your time between Gozo and the main island.

To Susielou, this is an old thread from last year. You would be better off starting a new one but anyway here goes:
I would suggest a couple of days on Gozo and the rest on Malta. There is a ferry between Sardinia and Corsica but I don't think there is one between Malta and any of the other places you mention. There is a ferry from Malta to Sicily. You could probably fly from Malta to one of the islands. Check Air Malta or www.flycheapo.com
