Everyplace in central London would be accessible to all the tourist attractions - either by bus, tube, or on foot.

Yes, we definitely need your budget. Plus which airport are you arriving/departing. Some areas are better located for one airport over another.

I would figure out your hotel budget and what you want to spend per night and bid on a 4 star hotel in Westminster or Mayfair area using Priceline. Check out www.biddingfortravel.com to see what rooms are going for before placing your bid.

Arriving Gatwick. Would like to stay in area near some walkable tourist sights and near transportation to same.
Price range 90 - 120 pounds sterling.
Thank you.

"Price range 90 - 120 pounds sterling" Is that single, double or family room? If it is for a single, you'd have your choice of a huge number of places.

Most every central London location is walkable to at least a site or two and to everyplace else by tube/bus. But Gatwick is most easily accessible to areas around Victoria Station, London Bridge/Southwark, or Kings Cross/Bloomsbury.

If you mean double, someplace like the Grosvenor (not the Grosvenor House Marriott) would be good. It is attached to Victoria Station and doubles run about £100 or just a bit less. Could not be more convenient for Victoria/Gatwick.

Londontown.com is a terrific site for finding rooms.
