4 days in Greece - itinerary suggestions

Hi

I am flying into Athens late September and will be in Greece for only 4 days. We are going to visit a friend and unfortunately we were not able to take additional days for leave from work hence the short trip.

Could anyone suggest an itinerary for the 4days. We are 4 friends in our late 20s. We would like to go to an island to experience the great nightlife and also would love to do a little bit of sight-seeing if possible in the short time we are there. I know it is terribly short but any suggestions would be great!

A Greek friend suggested going to the island Paros? for some partying as he says it's not bad and close to Athens; seeing as we don't have a lot of time.

Thanks

Hi

Please could someone suggest a good island to go to that is resaonbly close to Athens so we don't end up sending all our time on a ferry :)

Thanks

Does your friend mean Paros or Poros?
You could drive around the coast seeing Mycenae and Nafplion which would be as nice as being on an island.

Thanks. He said Paros. I am flying into Athens, would you be able to tell me which port I need to go to to get a ferry to Paros and how long the journey to the port is and also how long is the journey to the island.

On such a short trip, I would stay in Athens. The nightlife there is very good. You could take trips to Aegina, Hydra and Poros to get a taste of the islands. There are plenty of day cruises that visit all three or you could take one of the many ferries from Pireas. These islands are the closest to Athens and are certainly worth visiting. If you want to stay on an island, I would consider one of these to avoid long ferry trips.

I think it is approximately 6 hours by ferry from Athens to Paros.
