4 days after London Conference--what to do?
Happy New Year everyone!
We're attending a conference right outside London (Burnham, Buckinghamshire) in two weeks and have 3 to 4 days after to go around after. We have been to London and seen the major sites, so we would perhaps like to stay around the countryside to explore.
Since I am a big antiques type of person, I would even consider staying in London for the extra few nights and just visit Portobello market on Sat and Sunday. But if you have any suggestions for us, including interesting Bed and Breakfasts, please advise? We will be there from Jan 16 to 21 (conference proper) and free from the 21st to 24th.
(I know, freezing weather--not the best time to go--BUT everything's been arranged). Thanks for any input you can share!

Check out Grey's Antique Market near Bond Street,Sydney Street Antiques center, on corner of King;s Rd and Sydney St, And Alfies. There may be some Sunday Antiques shows at various hotels. I checked Great British ANtiques website for fairs and shows but they don't show anything special for your dates. Ask in any shop if there is a Sunday fair anywhere.

Suffolk would be ideal for antiques and lovely countryside, even in January. Not too far away from London either.
Long Melford and Lavenham are two beautiful Suffolk villages and are both famous for their numerous antique shops as well as their medieval timbered houses and huge 'wool' churches built on the proceeds of medieval cloth making.

Lavenham Priory is gorgeous and does B&B

There's also some wonderful restaurants in the area - just give me a yell if you want further info about this area.

What interesting ideas. I'm now getting excited. I hope I am able to research these places before we leave on the 16th. I may have to just be spontaneous and plan the free days while the conference is ongoing.
