thanks for everyone's input! I already booked tickets for the eye for a 7pm "flight". Although, I've been on the eye before, my wife hasn't and it's one of those things that she would love to do at least once ...

Churchhill War Cabinet Rooms are wonderful, and just around the corner from Westminster Abbey.

LadyBlufton....great info! but did you buy your tickets online or you have to buy the tickets at the place you are trying to visit and then present the coupon?

For example, we are planning to go to The Tower of London and Westminster Abbey....

The Cabinet War Rooms wss the UNDERGROUND hub of all activities conducted by Churchill and his Cabinet during WWII. Everything was left exactly "as is" after the war and only re-opened several years ago. It's like a time capsule of that era.

We printed the two-for-one coupons before we left and used them at Westminster Abbey and the Cabinet War Rooms. No one asked to see a train ticket.

If you can get in on a verger tour at Westminster Abbey, it's worth the extra price as you get to see a few things that aren't open to the general public.

We really enjoyed the Cabinet War Rooms/Churchill Museum. Allow two hours if you can; we only had about 90 minutes and felt a little rushed toward the end.

We've used the 2for1 passes on multiple trips and sometimes you get asked for a train ticket, sometimes you don't. On our visit in February we were only asked to show them at Apsley House. Oyster cards count in case you're wondering what they consider a train ticket.
