4 day Danube River Cruises that can accommodate bringing a car

We are thinking about taking a cruise from Vienna to Budapest. We will have a car, and I am not sure what to do with the car, or how to get back to the car once the cruise is over. Any suggestions? Also looking for someone who has done this cruise and what operator they used.

I don't think any of ferries or hydrofoils take cars. You could leave the car in Vienna, take the boat to Budapest and return by train (2 1/2 hours).

How far from the boat terminals is the train station. I am traveling with someone who can not walk very far, and will be using a portable scooter. Is there a place to park the car?

You would need to get a taxi. Usually taxis are waiting for the boats to come in, which can either take you to the train station (not too far) or to a hotel if you are spending any time in Budapest. The cruise ship should be able to help. I believe you want Budapest Keleti station to return to Vienna. There were porters at the station the last time I was there but that was 8 years ago.

Other options would be a private or shared car transfer or rental back to Vienna or the hydrofoil which takes between 6-7 hours.

Is this your own car you are leaving in Vienna? I was wondering because if a rental, you would want to turn it in in Vienna. I would again check with the cruise line on parking, you are probably not the first person to arrive with their own car.

When we were in Vienna, parking outside the inner ring was unrestricted; we parked on a streetcar line and took the streetcar back to our accommodations. Depending on where the boat dock is located (one cruise ship docked a little upstream from where we parked), you might be able to do the same thing.
