4 and a half days in Switzerland in July 2019
HI There,
I am traveling with my wife and 8 year old daughter to Switzerland in July for 5 days. Arriving in Zurich on July 11th early morning at 6 AM and leaving Zurich on July 16th at 9 AM. So basically I have 4 full days and 1 partial day. This is our first visit to Swiss and I wanted to know could somebody suggest some itinerary that way we can cover most of the top tourist destination. PS: We don't want to rush and cover as much as we can rather pick few top destinations and chill :) Also for children are there some must visit that we should not miss. We are planning to travel mostly by train but open to some travel packages as well if its a better choice. Thank you! |
To me the absolute highlight of Switzerland are the high Alps and nowhere is better for that IMO than the Jungfrau Region above Interlaken - ensconce yourselves is a car-less mountain village like Wengen - a favorite with lots of folks here - a quiet town with great views.

You may want to spend one day/night in Lucerne like before your flight out as it's a lovely city on a lovely lake- boat rides are sweet - and only about an hour by train from Zurich Airport. For lots on Swiss trains check www.sbb.ch - Swiss Rail's site - BETS-European Rail Experts and www.ricksteves.com. You may find the Berner Oberland Pass to be a good deal as it covers the Jungfrau Region transports and to Lucerne and around. |
