We make roadtrips all the time and stay in cities as well as in more remote areas. We love to drive and feel we would miss a lot if we were to travel by train. We usually don't have a strict planning and sometimes we stop for an overnighter when we feel we haven't see enough of that specific part of a country. Probably it's a different way of traveling than most people do. We like it this way. We have the time to ourselves and can stay away as long as we want. There's something good about being retired!

As you may know, English is not my first language so I probably haven't expressed myself clearly. Sorry for that.
In a previous post I said that there are many apps to help on trips like this. The OP has had help from this (and other forums) but we are all talking between ourselves and not to them. Wonder what they make of the 10's of suggestions they have received so far? |

Call it fear, apprehension, nervousness, anxiety or whatever I suppose it is always down to experience, confidence, a fear that something will go wrong.

I had some misgivings when I wrote my response to MyriamC, that someone will take part of my message turn it around for their needs. Even If I was not responding to their post. :furious:

I am definitely suggesting visiting the North of Spain - the Basque country and Galicia, they are amazing - the nature is absolutely gorgerous, but super impressive, the architecture, food - everything is like a different universe

You are, as you well know, posting on a public forum, ribeirasacra, and when you post falsehoods, it is reasonable to expect someone to point that out. There was no "turning of your message" for anyone's needs -- just a factual correction. :) And in case you missed it, MyriamC (who you quoted when posting your factually incorrect statement) is not the OP, and if you want to response to MyriamC (or any other SPECIFIC person) you can now use PM.

@ ribeirasacra: Many thanks for taking the time and energy to respond, and with such grace!
@ baileypp: I fear your questions have gotten lost. Have you gotten the information you need at this point? |
