I always enjoy a good laugh. I suppose that requires a certain amount of energy, although I would hardly call it "aggressive."

Not necessarily a troll, but some people say the most laughable things on a travel forum.>>

indeed.

I love the quote about not feeding trolls by depriving of food recommendation bug I fail to understand it : trolls would love food recs but not the rest of what we post ?

I liked Le bistro de Venise which follows some old recipes.

I will refrain from commenting about aggressively here. It is a variable. Some found the dotted striped troll rant perfectly ok so why bother about usual 'piques' from regulars ?

How is the idiom again 'take everything with a pince of salt ' ?

I can attest that I am not a troll. Just a savvy traveller who likes to do her research and often reaches out to people who are also from NYC, as I find we often have the same sensibilities and expectations regarding food. Thanks to everyone who took their time to give good suggestions and advice!

actravegirl, you might go to Chowhound.com's Italy forum. It's not nearly as active as it once was but if memory serves, there have been some recent threads on Venice. I can't attest to the quality of the specific recommendations as I've not relied on them myself (having never been to Venice). But it's worth a shot.

Have a great trip!

I certainly didn't think you were. That's why I responded honestly to several comments about Venice, a town I know well.

What would be do without you, Snob.

Just wondering how your Italy trip went. We are leaving in a few weeks with 4 nights in Venice as our starting point. Any suggestions/recommendations? Thanks
