36 hours in Iceland
Hi, we have a day in Iceland (stopover with Iceland Air en route to Europe).
We arrive at 11:40p on Saturday and depart at 7:30a on Monday.
What should spend our Sunday doing? BTW -- we visit in August.
Thanks!

In August you will have plenty of daylight. On Sunday, do the Golden Circle Tour. Either book a commercial tour or rent a car and do it yourself - the roads are well marked I have done it both ways and prefer driving myself. It is about 180 miles of driving.
On your day of arrival, you might want to spend a couple of hours soaking in the Blue Lagoon to relax. If you are coming from the US east coast, jet lag should be minimal.

Basingstoke2 -- it looks like the Blue Lagoon is only open from 9a-9p. Or am I looking at the wrong thing? http://www.bluelagoon.com/Geothermal...-Hours-Prices/
The NYT link is great!
