>>I think a doctor's note could be useful if you have to cancel and want a refund or rebooking without penalty (maybe)>>
HA! Delta said :Don't bother, people lie all the time." It was only a colapsed vertebra. We ate the tickets.

I did once WillTravel, flying from India to the US, had a bad route(frequent flyer miles) and I feeling slighlty run down when i started, did not worry, but soon it got really bad! What make it worse was a 8 hour layover in Hongkong and 5 hours in LA. Sheer misery. I was alone, DH had flown out earlier.

However I was flying back home, so once back I could just rest - if I was touring would've been hard. If you have a direct flight to your destination you may be okay.

I do hope you feel better soon.

Airbourne must be wonderful! I have heard of a couple of people recently who were days away from flying to France, started getting sick, took that stuff and they never got sicker!!
I would try it !
Good Luck WillTravel~

I think I'm well enough to travel, so I will do so shortly. I also don't think I'm contagious. Thanks for all your thoughts!

Hope you are able to fly. I know I would be devastated if I was not able to make my trip on the 7th. Last April I was fine when I got on the plane to London but by the time I arived I was feeling sick. I had a cold for the first 5 days of my visit, and I never get sick. Last Sunday I had a backache and by Tuesday I could hardly get up and down. All I could think about was not being able to make my trip. It has been a week and I am finally geting better, so I know how you feel. You plan for months for a trip and then at the last minute something happeens. Good luck. Brenda

As an international flight attendant, take a tip and try to delay your departure. Rest up at home then try again. You will feel so much worse in the air on a long haul flight if you are not well. Also think of the other 300 or so pax who are not sick and looking forward to their holidays away. There is nothing worse than spending the first few days in a strange bed feeling awful.
