Hi 5alive --

I have no idea why the pictures won't show! that's a bummer! Everyone else we've sent it to hasn't had a problem and we're so new to the process I can't hazard a guess as to why.

Shanart: No I don't think that you can visit a place you love too many times; it's just hard to choose when there's so many places you'd like to experience!!

Regards,

Melodie

Hi 5alive again!

The only thing I can think of about the pictures is something Sam told me about -- his brother is on DIAL UP it takes FOREVER to see them, so it's not worth it.

Melodie

Thanks for the nice props. Fun report, and I wish I was still in Italy (well, I guess I am in spirit).

Melodie,

I am only part way through your report, but I had to stop to tell you something interesting - DH and I were in Castellina and had dinner at the same restaurant as you that very night!

Great report - lots of fun to read!

Hi!

MaiTaiTom: props are well deserved - You Da Man!

Dave: Big Trip 2006 will be Australia, so I'm not really sure it's appropriate for this Forum!

Sherhatfield: Getouttatown! No way!! What are the odds that we'd be in the same restaurant, the same town, at the same time???? I wish I'd known! I never even thought of posting something like "I'll be in Italy ________ with the dates, and I'd certainly never thought of Castellina as a meeting point for a Fodors connection!

Hey, what did YOU have to eat and did you like Castellina as much as we did?

Regards,

Melodie

Melodie, when I saw the date of your day in Castellina, I had to check with my husband just to make sure I had my dates correct! I don't remember exactly what we ate, but I know I had a bread-soup (It was a piece of bread soaked in a soup - a lot like stuffing, actually!) and a pork medallion dish that was delicious. We actually stayed at the Hotel Belvedere just outside the town of Castellina and really loved it.

On another note, we were on the wine tasting/lunch tour at Castello Verrazzano the following day - we left just as those tour buses were pulling in!

Hi Sherhatfield!

It seems our paths were crossing left and right -- I can't believe we didn't meet!

How did you like the wine tasting tour? Did you take the longer tour (with snacks) or the shorter, and did you feel it was worth the cost?

Regards,

Melodie

That was a wonderful slide show, I've never seen one like it. Very Clever.
Great report.

Thank you, Melodie. I'm hibernating through a blizzard here. Your beautiful slide show, music and commentary held me enthralled for ... oh ... well over and hour. I found myself doing chair aerobics just so I didn't miss anything!

I was in Florence, Sienna and Venice last October. Bread soup! That's what I called it too. Delicious soup, but I prefer my bread dry. Oh, the memories!

Thank you.

Chigalecanta: I know you're a frequent and knowledgeable poster on the forum, so I thank you for your kind words!

Everittp: I feel your pain being in a blizzard - as a former Pennsylvania girl, now in California, I still remember the horror of digging my car out and scraping my windshield in the morning -- glad I was able to share some Italian warmth!

Best regards,

Melodie
