3 week (or more) stay in Southern France

I wouldn't miss Marseille, Menton and Monaco either, if you have that much time there.
And the Calanques near Marseille are fantastic for hiking.

A lot of villages do not have public transportation. and if driving a small car is important because of the narrow streets and parking..

Yeah, I've already been to Tende by taking that train. Spent a day up there during a stay in Nice for the Euro 2016. Will probably return once to do a week long hut-to-hut hike in Mercantour and Alpe Maritime.

Calanques is definitely on the list. Already been to Monaco. Don't feel the need to return there.

A car is probably not an options if I'm travelling alone. So will do places where I can use public transportation.
