3 vs 4 cities in 10 days

Hi all - My sister and I have the following itinerary and would appreciate feedback.
9/29 afternoon arival in Lisbon
9/30-10/2 Lisbon
10/3 am bus to Seville
10/3-10/5 Seville
10/6 am bus to Granada
10/6-10/7 Granada
10/8 am flight to Barcelona
10/8-10 Barcelona
10/11 fly home

Would we be better off dropping Granada and adding that time to Barcelona?

Thanks so much for any advice!!

less is always more when traveling.

Hi hc,

Although I agree with Janda, if you are under 40, it looks OK.

Three of those cities in 10 days is pushing it given the travel time/distances. Maybe just Lisbon and Seville?

Thanks for the feedback - since my post have dumped Grandad and will do Lisbon, Seville, and Barcelona and will be flying from Seville to BCN to shorten travel time. If you have been to these destination do you have any favorite restaurants, side trips, shopping, etc? Staying at the Jorge V in Lisbon, the Hotel Amadeus in Seville and the Hotel Suizo in Barcelona. Only one I am unsure of is the BCN hotel. Thanks for the help!!

Don't dump Granada - the Alhambra may change your life!

I would vote to drop Barcelona, not because it is not interesting but it just streches you too far geographically. IMHO it would be better to enjoy Lisbon, Sevilla and Granada in 10 days than add an extra trip to the airport to the mix. Granada and the Alhambra are fabulous and you would really enjoy them combined with Sevilla.

I agree with Maria. Why does everyone think that Barcelona is in Spain. OK, it may be but it really is a stretch for most Spain itineraries--especially the 10 day ones.

OK, so if back to original itinerary - is 1 and 1/2 days enough in Granada as we fly out of Barcelona on the morning of the 11th at 0700? Iberia has airfares for 35.00 per person and the train (at night) is longer and more expensive. And by the way we are 41 and 50 but energetic!!

I'd say yes - if only because the #1, #2 and #3 thing to do in Grenada is the Alhambra. And I wouldn't skip Barcelona, either - so I say your original itinerary, possibly with less time in Grenada, is right on.
I stayed out of town in Grenada at the Posada Dona Lupe (this was 12 years ago in September) and it was great. You might want to check it out. I can't remember too much about it except that I loved it, we ate dinner outside under the trees, and the red wine was freezing cold.

Based on another Fodorite recommendation we are staying at the Casa del Capitel Nazari. SOunds good but ? Will send a review on return. But of note found a great web site called Circum Vista that was effortless to make reservations with and no increase over direct with the hotel! Thanks for all the help.
