I've ordered from the above (minimus) and also:

thanks for the links to these 2 websites, I think it's a great idea and I knew that someone had to be smart enough to do this...it was a natural marketing idea!

They sell almost all of the personal care items on those pages (though not the food, but who takes soy sauce on a plane?) in every chain drugstore I've ever been in. Why go to a website? I must be missing something.

convenience and late night shopping is usually my reason! :)

Mine, too! Thanks for the links.

Why go to a website? For the bragging rights, of course, you silly :))

fnarf999 Jun 19th, 2007 04:52 PM

Well, if a 3 oz. bottle of shampoo is all you've got to brag about, I guess you have to go with it! (smile)

These sites have hundreds of items/brands to choose from.....any pharmacies/stores I have been in have 1 to 2 dozen travel size items at best.

Fair enough. I was just having a bit of fun. I've never found the brand of shampoo or toothpaste to be all that big a deal for a few weeks of traveling. Actually, I like picking up weird brands of things in other countries. I wish I'd bought that tube of "Golliwog" toothpaste I saw once.

999,

Let me guess...are you a man? :) Only a man might not understand the importance of shampoo. :)

fnarf999 Jun 21st, 2007 08:26 AM

I am a man, but one who cares about shampoo perhaps more than I should. But I hate using the same kind over and over, and much prefer changing constantly. I don't think I've ever bought the same brand twice, by design. The only kinds I can't stand are really perfumey ones, which are unfortunately the kind you find in hotels for the most part. But finding something else is never difficult; there are SO MANY varieties to choose from. Having never used the same kind twice, I still haven't even come close to exhausting the variety available just within a mile of where I'm sitting.

Travelnut, you said you ordered from both sites....any recommendations on which one is better?

Travelnut Jun 21st, 2007 01:41 PM

nope.. if one doesn't have something you want, look on the other. My strategy is to order from whichever one gives me the best price incl. S/H

I've only used them a couple times to 'fill in' items I didn't find in local stores. Also for a bit of recreational shopping for stuff I don't really need :)
