3* or above in Paris

Hi All. Will be In Paris For 4-5 nights in November 2005. Looking for recommendations for good value hotels and resteraunts please. Also what to do in the evenings...bars, live clubs (music & caberet). We're young 35-45yr olds who love to go out & see new places.
Thanks in antici....pation!

My preferred 3 star at the moment is the hotel Delavigne, on rue Casimir Delavigne, in the 6th. Rooms vary in size, and the very small ones are very small indeed.
Don't hesitate about a 'twin' room, the beds are pushed together anyway, but the room is larger. Thoroughly modern bathrooms, pretty decor, etc.
Search on it here, or at tripadvisor.com

I can highly recommend the Hotel Millesime on Rue Jacob in the 6th. Many rooms are quite large and the staff is most helpful.

Do you have any thoughts as to what arrondisement you want to be in? Something central since it's a short trip? I ask because I feel it is somewhat easier, say to find a 4-star hotel in the 5th (for example) than try to research all of the hotels in Paris.

There are only a very few 4* hotels on the Left Bank, such as the Lutetia and Les Rives de Notre-Dame. Probably a 3* is what the poster is after.

OK, then asking for a 3-star on the Left Bank will narrow down the choices to a more reasonable number to consider.

Exactly. I think the St-Germain area might suit the posters very well. But in order to make hotel and restaurant recommendations we really need to know what "good value" means--a budget would be very, very useful.

Have a look at Hotel Suede Saint Germain, a very nice 3 star hotel in the 7th. It is decorated in a charming Parisian style, the hotel is quite calm at night. If you want to go out at night, nice and animated districts are 4th and 3rd too, area called le Marais. There are loads and loads of bars, pubs, discos and so on...
For the hotel, so can see it on http://www.suede-saint-germain.com
Have a nice trip!
