3 Nights Paris, what hotel should we stay in?

Hi, we have 3 nights in Paris, first time. Just my husband and myself.
I have pre booked Hotel D'Aubusson http://www.hoteldaubusson.com/en/ but want to make sure this is in the best place. Has anyone stayed there? Do you think we are in a good 'first timer' area?
It's the last stop after a four and a half week holiday and we want to finish on a high. Also hubby is turning 50 while we are there. Any suggestions what we should do for that while your giving me advice?
Thanks in advance

kcnewby,

Never stayed there as it's a bit outside my budget but it certainly looks very nice - i particularly like the patio/terrace - and the area is fine. you should be able to walk to most places you'll want to be or get there easily on the Metro or RER. the musee d'orsay [impressionist paintings] is nearby, and the Rodin and louvre aren't much further away - ditto Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower. you'll have a huge range of restaurants to pick from too, just outside your front door.

have a great trip!

I agree - lovely place to stay, easy to walk to lots of things and tonnes of places to eat and drink and watch the world go by nearby!

Hi, yes it is pricey, would be happy to stay somewhere less expensive if it's great! Happy for other suggestions. Excited about the locale though...

You made a great choice in a perfect area for a newby. Unless you are really stressed out about your budget, I'd stick with it. Why not do your first trip to Paris in style?

We have stayed there several times and liked it and the surrounding area very much. Excellent breakfast if your rate includes it. Concierge services are excellent as well.

Ok, locked in and now very comfortable with my decision. Last stop of the trip, so happy to go out in style and make Paris a place to definitely return to in the near future...

Wow, that hotel looks awesome. Good job finding it! That area is where I would like to stay, next time I can get to Paris. It looks like the perfect Parisian experience.

Will you please report back on your trip?

You've made an excellent choice. The area is fantastic. I have never booked a room there, but the bar is quite nice.
