3 nights outside of Paris....Where to stay?

We have been trying to decide what town to stay in while we are traveling to Normandy. We were thinking of spending 3 days outside of Paris seeing the smaller, quaint areas. Any suggestions for hotels, etc? What villages? We love the cafes and leisurely pace on holiday and don't necessarily need museums, etc.

Thanks!

Les Andelys..on the way to Normandy. Stay and dine at the La Chaine d'Or. You will enjoy!

Another vote for La Chaine d'Or, on the way, and either Honfleur or Bayeux if you're going closer to the coast.

Here's another idea.
Les Andelys, La Chaine d'Or.

Stayed at La Chaine d'Or in Petit Les Andelys in September and it was wonderful.

The dinner was so fanastic. You must try.

I would be afraid to jump in here and say we loved L'Chain d'Or in 2005 (in case it caused a price run-up). However, I have my night there already booked for next May.

In case you don't have enough praising La Chaine d'Or, I know poster Underhill probably would have been the first one to tell you to go there. She is/was in hospital for knee surgery yesterday. She actually was the one who told me about the place.

Sounds like a must do for you!!

Enjoy................
