3 nights in Connemara or Dingle?

My itinerary will include both Clifden and Dingle. Right now I'm assuming 2 nights in Clifden and 3 nights in Dingle, but when I look at all there is to do in Connemara, I wonder if I should switch this. Both stays will have a fairly long drive leading up to the first night in each town. The question is: do you think it would be better to have 2 full days on site to see Connemara and 1 full day for Dingle, or the other way around? Obviously, there is also some time during the drive toward each town to take in area sights before arriving at the B&B. What do you think?

Also, I'm currently thinking of 1 overnight between Clifden and Dingle in Doolin, but now I'm worried that town will be overrun with tourists and hence overcrowded and no fun. Is there a sleepier village (perhaps Lisdoonvarna?) that might offer a more pleasant evening and still be close enough to the Cliffs for a quick visit in the afternoon or morning? If there are Doolin lovers out there, I'm happy to hear from them, too. Thanks.

Connemara. Dingle is overrated. Liscanor, south of the cliffs, is a seaside village with great seafood -- the Anchor Inn.

Correction: Doolin is overrated.

Second the recommendation for Liscannor and the best salmon I've ever eaten was in the Anchor Inn - they have reasonably priced rooms upstairs too. You can get the boat to the cliffs from the pier at Liscannor.

I third the rec. for Liscannor. Littlejane's recommendation for the boat trip to the foot of the Cliffs of Moher is a good one. I had been to the top of the cliffs many times, and took the first trip to the bottom a couple years ago. Gives another perspective on the majesty of the cliffs.

Re your original question: I would give Clifden two days by just a slim margin. However, both Clifden and Dingle are great and have plenty to keep you busy.
