3 Ladies in Tuscany

My 2 best friends and I are spending 2 nights in Siena and 1 night in Cortona (part of a larger trip) ... I am in charge of finding the hotels for those 3 nights in September. Can anyone give me recommendations? We are in our late 20s -- want something nice but nothing expensive...

Many thanks!!!!

"Not expensive" means different amounts for different people. What price range are you thinking of for hotels?

In Siena, I suggest the hotel IL GIARDINO, www.hotelilgiardino.it , just out from the walls and therefore close to the historical center.
Not expensive, as for one three beds room, the cost is 155 euro, including a very good breakfast.
I go there often (job not leisure) and I like it.

Ciao.

Hotel Santa Caterina, just outside Porta Romana, was a perfect place for us. http://www.hscsiena.it/homeingle.htm Easy access to the centro storico while having access to parking so that we could use it as a base for touring the coutryside. And having breakfast in the garden was the epitome of living "under the Tuscan sun". I'd happily return.

Here is a nice B&B in the heart of Cortona:

I concur with Santa Caterina in Siena.

We enjoyed the Palazzo Ravizza but I have also heard good things about the Santa Caterina. I don't know the place zoecat mentions but the website looks encouraging.
