3 Kings Day - Florence/Venice

We're going to travel on Monday, Jan. 6, 2003 (3 Kings Day) from Florence to Venice. Will anything be anything be open in Venice? Also, I want to do a little shopping in Venice - any suggestions for best buys and where? Thanks for your help.

As far as I recall 3 King's day is a Spanish festival day , not an Italian

Diana- There is a festival in Venice on Jan 6. Not sure it's called 3 kings. Maybe San Stefano? Anyway, don't know if things are closed but it may be difficult to get around. Try emailing your hotel for info.

I'd also like shopping tips so hoping someone will reply to that.

Epifania (January 6) IS indeed a holiday in Italy.
Not sure, what's open and what not.
Maybe some Italian residents can answer this one.

Epifania is indeed a minor festivity in Italy too. In Venice or Florence I would be very astonished if anything closed down in during a festivity that is part of the main touristic period except for August, in any case.
