3 generation Road Trip France
Daughter 1 lives in UK with first grandchild. Daughter 2 in Africa in Peace Corps. I'm in USA. We have all lived and traveled throughout France. Gathering for baby's first holiday at French grandparents outside of Millau.
All arriving CDG early December. Plan is to rent a car, take our time driving down there, possibly staying in a gite somewhere in between for week. Can't decide about going into Paris---baby is 5 months--flu etc.---but could stay there a few days-rent an appartment. welcome suggestions for the following: If we don't go into Paris, where can we rendez-vous near CDG? I arrive Thursday am, others Friday am. Charming gites/ towns between Paris and Millau? Renting a car for 19 days. Used Kemwell/Peugot last year and loved it. Still a good deal? The dollar has tanked, so budgeting up to 500 euros for gite for week? Once arrive near Millau also looking for place there. Merci! |
The A75 is a magnificent road and free from Clermont Ferrand to Millau.
This is a typical old house off the A71 / A75 : http://www.limousin-chambres-bb.com Millau is about 1 hr from the Med coast - so worth a trip ? Millau itself is probably worth staying in, but it will be much colder than further South. Peter |

I don't think your budget for the gite is any problem as Dec. is low season. You can find plenty in that range. As for Paris, depending what you mean by a few days, it is difficult to rent an apartment for such a short time. If that is 3 days, there may be a few, but not many. Even 5 days won't get you a full list, but more.

What a lovely plan for a trip; I'll be eager to follow your posts.
