Many thanks for the entertaining read. I think in future, all overambitious "20 countries in 10 days" posts should be redirected here.

sparks - that is truly brilliant.
up there with the "how do you know they're not ax murderers" and "don't take potato salad to a party" threads. I salute you. |

annhig. You may need to start another topic on axe murderers and potato salad because I don't have a clue what you mean.Lol.
StC yes sparkchaser may kill me as well. Maybe I should say straight up we like to stay minimum 5 days in a place and total trip will be 88 days. Can we fit in Canada. Lol. |

cheska, I was referring to 2 famous/infamous threads which have passed into fodor's folklore - this one looks like joining them due to Sparkie's brilliant contributions. |
This is one of them:

I have been called many things before but brilliant was never one.
|
annhig. You have made my day. It is always good to start a cold dreary Sunday with a laugh
|
annhig, as you know I was the OP of the axe murderers thread you have totally made my day by posting a link to my thread. I haven't read this in years and now I will enjoy it once again. :-))
|
my pleasure, P_M. It was fun re-reading it and seeing the names of some fodorites now sadly no longer with us.
|
Yes indeed annhig, I still love reading LoveItaly's posts. We spoke many times on the email and a few times on the phone. And best of all, I was fortunate enough to meet her at a San Francisco GTG. When she passed I heard from her wonderful daughter. I will always miss LoveItaly. ((F))
|
P_M - I never had the chance to meet her but I know that she was much loved by all who did.
Now, does anyone remember the name of the wonderful thread about the person who took his potato salad to a party and the hostess gave it back to him as he left? |
annhig I am looking forward to the potato salad post. I have tried searching but no joy so far. Can't even imagine how it is related to travel. Lol
|
cheska - I think it may have been in the Lounge, in a thread about what to bring to a GTG.
It began with a story about someone bringing a potato salad to a social gathering, and being somewhat nonplussed to have it returned to them, untouched, by the hostess who had clearly thought that it was an inferior offering for her table. Where it went after that is the stuff of fodorite legend. I'd love it if anyone could find it. |
In bringing up wonderful old threads, anyone new here should read these two. They are my all time favorites.

Janisj, Thank you so much!

oh yes, absolute classics.
Perhaps we should start a new thread? |
BTW, the OP seems to have disappeared into his own material congress, whatever one of those is.
