3 days in tuscany - looking for advice

We will be just outside Arezzo for 3 days this July, and want to spend the mornings going to different towns, the afternoons by the pool, and the evenings at recommended restaurants (not formal, with good food and Tuscan ambience - so what else is new?).

We plan to spend our first night's dinner in Arezzo after an afternoon at the mall (it's our daughter's 18th birthday), and the next 2 nights are open.

As well, we plan to spend one morning visiting Montepulciano and Pienza, and one morning in Siena and San Gimignano ( we've been there previously, but want to revisit the Duomo and be in S.G. early in the a.m. so as to briefly have the town to ourselves before the hordes arrive).

We are therefore looking for advice as to which town to visit on our last free morning, which restaurant is suggested in Arezzo, and which relatively near-by restaurants/towns are suggested for our other 2 evenings.

As always, many thanks for any assistance/recommendations.

Another top-up...if at first you don't succeed...

Check your Siena dates. The Palio is the first week of July. See a practice race if you can. For a very nice dinner, try Dievole winery near Vagli-Agli outside of Siena. Awesome place. Your last day, consider Lucca. Quite historical and different from the rest of the area.

Camelspit - thanks for your response.

We are arriving in Rome on July 1, and will be spending the first 2 1/2 days there before driving to Lucca that night. We intend to eat in Lucca (any suggestions?), and then will be driving the next mid-day to Rapallo ( with a potential stop for the afternoon in Monterrosa). Our ultimate return to Tuscany will happen after stays in Rapallo (2 days), Cannes (3 days) and Venice (2 days).

We will be in Florence for 2 days before heading to Arezzo for our final 3 days in Italy. It is this final portion of our trip that I am trying to plan.

By the way, I had considered Siena/Pallio but as it is occuring during our first 2 days in Europe, we had already decided that this experience would have to wait for another holiday.

If I was going to go back to the Tuscany area I would not hit all the towns and loose so much time driving and looking for parking etc. In my opinion these towns tend to all blend in and look the same after a week or two.The churches the shops the resturants the people all nice ,but all the same.
