Agree with MMJoe about Wengen being much more dreamy and fulfilling expectations of Swiss Alps which are not nearly as awesome in Lucerne area. Wengen for three days would be really neat.

We emailed Swiss Tourism and they mailed us booklets about places to visit, activities and hotels in each area.Impressive!
Based on all the info received, we researched areas in our interest and made 3 different itineraries, taking weather into consideration. Thanks to all who posted suggestions here.
