3 days in Spain - help where?!

My daughter is studying abroad in Paris - freshman year of college. She wants me to take her to Spain on her break. Initially, she asked to go to "Andalucia" region as she did a report on this region in high school.

I thought Seville would be fun as I went there when I was her age. However, it seems far and a bit pricey with flights (as we're leaving in a month fro Paris). She said she'd be open to going anywhere in Spain, so I'm thinking maybe Barcelona as that's one city I've never been to.

We like major sites, outdoor restaurants, charm, great coffee, I think a flamenco show is in order - she would be in awe. Not sure what else. Looking for suggestions! I think a non-stop flight for under 100 Euros each is what I'm looking for and just some general ideas of where to take a teen excited to explore the world :)

Thanks.

Barcelona would be OK, but when is her break ?

As Bedar notes, time of year is worth considering.

Barcelona should suit your interests if the time of year is right. With 3 days, you will need to be selective in what you see, so think through your priorities in advance.

If she had an interest in Andalusia, and you have 3 nights, you might consider Granada. The Alhambra is exquisite and can take a full day, and there is much more to Granada. If you have 3 full days, Granada might not suit as well -- depending on your pace of travel, that might be just a bit too much time for Granada....

Enjoy!

You will be about 6-1/2 hours by train from Barcelona and about the same from San Sebastián, both would do for a week long trip, but not much for only three days. Even flying would eat up much of your available time. Save the hassle and head down to Bordeaux or Leon and enjoy the time.

Since you are interested in Barcelona, and kids think it's very hip, that's a possibility. And, as Kja said, Granada is another. Look at the fares on the cheap airlines - Ryanair, Easy Jet, Vueling. It should be possible to make a short trip from Paris to Spain, even Seville.
