3 days in rhodes

I have 3 days in rhodes (I wish it were longer, but that's all i've got) and have seen so many different posts on places on the island. I know it's one of the bigger ones, so I guess what I'm asking is, "if you only had 3 days there, where is the BEST place to go?" we want ruins and beaches. Thanks!

I would suggest stay in Rhodes Town as it is the most interesting place on the island and there is a half decent town beach. Rent a car and take a day trip to Lindos and see the castel and spend the afternoon on the beach there.

I second the recommendations for Rhodes Town and Lindos. I spent a week on Rhodes last September and they were the two places I saw most of. We started off staying in Lindos, but due to matters beyond my control we got moved to Faliraki, which doesn't have much going for it in my opinion. Lindos is a beautiful little town with narrow winding streets and loads of history (and ruins, and great beaches!). Swimming in St. Paul's Bay was one of the highlights of my trip.

Rhodes Town is beautiful too, although obviously it is a much bigger town than Lindos. If I was ever going back to the island, I would book my accomodation there because there is so much to do, both day and night.

If you want to rent a car in Rhodes Town, you can explore some of the rest of the island. Taking a boat cruise between the two towns is also a very enjoyable option, especially if it stops to let you go swimming offshore

I suggest Rhodes Old Town and Lindos.

Lindos is a small town with white houses where you can find a beautiful beach

I too would suggest staying in Rhodes. But, absolutely spend an afternoon in Lindos. I actually went there using the bus system - very easy. Loved the town, the ruins and the view from those ruins. There is also a stellar sheltered small bay with a beach just south of town. I spent the most wonderful afternoon there swimming those gorgeous waters. Refreshments are available on the beach. I would also very highly recommend a boat trip to the tiny island of Symi. It is one of the most charming & colorful towns I visited in Greece. Take your bathing suit as there is a beach if you walk around the harbor. A restaurant is beach side which can provide food & beverages. Chairs & umbrellas are available for rent. On another day I did rent a car and drove the road which circles the island. It was ok. But, with your limited time I'd concentrate on Old Rhodes town, Lindos & Symi. Enjoy!
