Thanks, Kim |
Maybe took a look at http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34423191 and the thread referenced there (even better).
Best wishes, Rex |
Hi, Kimberly!
Some neat things: 1. Charles Bridge - always something going on. 2. Climb one of the towers on either side of the bridge - great views 2. Old Town Square - just great atmosphere, restaurants, etc. 3. Tower - take the elevator up - tremendous views 4. Petrin Hill - take funicular to the top, then walk over to Petrin Tower & walk up to top - you will have just incredible views of the city. 5. Prague Castle & St. Vitus - just great walking around this area of the city. 6. Areas down below Charles Bridge on Mala Strana side are neat areas to walk around. Park like settings along the river are neat. Have fun planning. Bob |
My favorite is Wallenstein sculpture garden - search the web or guidebook for it's obscure entrance (free). From the tower of the cathedral at the castle, you can see it's most bizzare feature which is a wall of stucco flowers (which look like skulls from afar).
Nearby is an expensive "gardens below the palace" which seems a terrible value. Also the royal gardens (free, nice). And "botanical garden" is nice but remote. |
I was in Prague Oct. 2002 - maybe my trip report will be helpful.....
