3 days in Paris

We are 3 girls in our mid 20's heading to Paris in August. Two questions:

Where should we hang out in the evenings for drinks that is safe and fairly inexpensive?

We dont have much time so give us a list of "must see and dos"

Thanks for your response!!

The Lourve, at least to see the statue of David by Michaelangelo

and at least one other museum.

Maybe the Gehry Museum to see the Impressionist collections, especially for the works of Bilbao and Guernica.

The Cathedral of Cologne. Built almost entirely from the fortune of Coco Chanel.

Mont St. Sacred Family (Famille Sacre Bleu, I think). Still under construction after over 100 years, which is part of the amazement of it. Lots of street artists there in Place de la Tortoise, where you can get fantasitc portraits done on the spot.

The Arch de Gaulle

and the Bridge over the River Quai, which is where Princess Diana of Monaco plunged to her death.

The bookinistes along the river Thames are also fun.

If you read "les books".

But maybe you don't.

Check out all the tapisseries for the best "saucisses on a rug" you ever tasted!

Bon appetit!

Frankly, if it's not too hot I'd keep your itin. to one museum (Louvre) and do the following: Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Bateaux Mouche and walking/strolling around the Latin Quarter. rue Mouffetard is a must. The Metro is the best subway in the world and totally comprehensive.

As far as hanging out in the evenings, stick to the Latin Quarter. Avoid Les Halles.

Hi C,

Look up Paris under "Destinations".

"saucisses on a rug" is definitely an acquired taste.

Under destinations above, there is a pretty nice "what to do in three days".
As to finding a perch for the evenings...don't discount the Marais and Oberkampf areas either. Wine is fairly inexpensive compared to cocktails.
As to "must do's" the only must do I made myself do was to see St. Chappelle glass on the second floor. Otherwise, some enjoy shopping, some enjoy hiring one of the well-known guides and getting a bit of intense Paris depending on your particular interests.
A must do I haven't yet done is go the Eiffel Tower...I'll get back to Paris again and again (I hope...)
Otherwise another must-do for me is to sit outside at a cafe, wear big Jackie-O sunglasses and watch people.

I agree with checking out the Marais and Rue Oberkampf.Look at restaurants around the Parmentier Metro stop like Le Bleu Homme(great North African food).

Consider taking a hammam at the one near the Paris Mosque(in the 5th). I love it.
