3 days in Munich

My friend and I arrive in Munich at 2pm on the 3rd of October and have to leave for Hamburg on the 5th (evening). Its a very short amount of time but I wanna squeeze in as much as I can including the Oktoberfest! I've come up with a super rough itinerary for the 3 days but I have no idea if it is too ambitious or it can be done:

3rd - arrive in munich at 2pm, check-in, Oktoberfest
4th - whole day trip to Garmisch-Mittenwald-Obermmergau
5th - BMW museum, fly to Hamburg

I also have a couple of other questions:
1. Is it best for me to find a hotel near the beer tents? Will my day trip be easily accessible from this point?
2. What are good hotels near the tents within a 100-150euro budget?
3. Am i missing any great sights in Munich?

Any help will be much appreciated! :) Thanks!

Oktoberfest tents at night are filled up with corporate sponsors. Generally, no solo travelers can sit and have a beer or 3.

Yes, you are missing some great sites in Munich.

Good luck on finding a hotel during that period.

I agree that you are missing stuff in Munich way above and beyond the beer tent and expensive carnival experience: the Treasury, the Residenze, Nymphenberg Palace, Marianplatz, etc., etc.

If you really LIKE wood carving shops and seeing the outside of the closed Passion Play theatre, then go to Oberammergau, otherwise given your Munich alternative alone I'd bypass it.

Is the Oktoberfest still going on then?

To answer my own question, October 6th is the last day the tents are open this year.
