3 days in Amsterdam: "Amsterdam Pass" suggested?

HI,

My wife and I will stay in Amsterdam in mid October for 3 days. There is an "amsterdam pass" offer from the VVV toruist office. The pass offers free public tranportations and free admissions to several museums. It includes canal boat cruise too. Is is worthwhile to purchase the pass? Anyone used the pass before?

Any comment and suggestions is appreciated.

The only way I know to answer is to suggest you choose the places listed on the pass that interest you, then price their admission fees separately. Add cost of tram (there is a strippenkaart - individual tickets, or there is a day-pass). Allowing a little extra cost for convenience, then you can decide if it is worth it. Take note whether any museums are closed during your 3 days since the pass wouldn't help for that.

I think the canal boat cruise is around 10-15E, most museums are around 8E, the day-pass for trams is about 11E... rough estimates.

I think it is not worth to take the Amsterdam pass, although the tram is not cheap you can walk to most places there and pay the fees in the different places to visit, in two days you don'thave a lot of time,so you are not going to enter in a lot of places.

I'll be visiting Amsterdam next summer, and definitely plan to get the Amsterdam Passes. Unlimited public transport, two canal boat tours, and admission to most museums of interest (plus the convenience factor) make it a bargain for me.
