3 days between Geneve and Lyon
 

Hi,
couple. going by car from Geneve to Lyon through Montmelas-Saint-Sorlin, there we'll stay for 3 nights.
Please suggestions for interesting/beautiful sites/points of interests - not too far from Montmelas..

Montmelas-Saint-Sorlin is some 20 miles north of Lyon.
The most obvious places to visit from there are the Roman buildingins (thatres, museum etc.) of Lyon and may be of Vienne, the old city of Lyon, the many museums ofr Lyon (from the textile museums up to the Resistance and Deportation History Centre (CHRD),housed in the former headquarters of the Gestapo.
That may keep you busy for at least 3 days. If not, proceed 20-40 miles to the North (Burgundy) and visit the vineyards around Macon, the monastery of Cluny, the cathedral of Tournus and the Route des Vins du Beaujolais.
