3 days alone ANYWHERE in europe: where would YOU go?

The title says it all! I'm meeting some friends in Paris but I'm going 3 days early. What to do? I'm a 23yr old American guy.

How long will you be in Paris? I love Paris and would want to stay there but there are lots of places to go.

And if you post this on the Europe forum you will get many more suggestions.

Have you been to Europe before - or been anyplace other than Paris? There are hundreds of places you could spend your three days. What sorts of things do you like?

Paris is for 3 days, then Dublin for st. patties day. Then on to Prague before returning home.

Where are the prettiest girls in europe If nothing else I want something to look at for my 3 days alone!

Been to London, Rome, Munich, Zurich, and Amsterdam. The last 3 were awesome, first two - not so much.

I dunno, I hear berlin is fun with all their clubs and whatnot.

Why do folks (you are in good company BTW) keep writing "St Patties" ?

Patties is the plural for patty (like cow _____ or a burger). Nothing at all to do w/ St Patrick. Just wondering . . . . . . .

Since you will be in Prague I would go to Berlin. It is a beautiful happening city. Lots of clubs and pretty girls. And great beer.

You can easily stay in Paris for a total of 6 days. Plenty of pretty girls there. ;-) Go to Montmartre, Sorbonne area, a zillion other places esp. on the Left Bank, you should have no trouble meeting the locals and enjoying yourself. I am sure others on this forum can help you with more ideas..

We left our 16-year-old daughter alone for 15 minutes to make a call outside the hotel, and she met a group of teens, made a ton of acquaintances and hung out with them that evening.. I am still a bit dubious, but she had a lot of fun and still raves about it

Thanks for the info. I was leaning toward Berlin anyways but I've already been to Germany and love collecting stamps in the passport. But I'll take the lesser of two 'evils' here hahaa

St. patties mainly because I'm lazy and don't want to type out Saint Patrick's Day every freakin time.

So if berlin is it where are the best clubs or bars??

Your age and nationality tell us very little...what are your interests, where have you traveled before?

For example, I know a guy that age getting his master's in marine biology. He'd pick Bergen, Norway.

Another who's studying geology would pick Iceland.

But the usual suspects that spring to mind are: Berlin, Munich, Prague, London, Barcelona, Amsterdam. Any of those would give you plenty to see and do for three days and have easy, direct plane or train connections to Paris. Or you could just arrive in Paris early and spend some time on your own.

I know you said you visited a few on my list before...but for how long and how long ago? Were you on your own, with friends or with your parents?

It does sound like Berlin or Prague might be your best bets.

Copenhagen! Lots of friendly people, pretty girls, casual bars. There are some locals on Virtual Tourists who are always hosting visitors to their fine city.

Hi E,

Lucky you, you have an extra 3 days in Paris.

>Where are the prettiest girls in europe...

The prettiest are in Sweden, followed by Denmark.

The classiest are in Paris, followed by Rome.

I'd say Copenhagen too--lots of young people, nightlife and people are incredibly friendly and if you only speak English you are set.

Vesterbro area has a high concentration of bars.

Amsterdam is my favorite place in the world. A terrific place, easy to spend three interesting days. I go for a weekend about once a year and always find something new to see/do.

Well Copenhagen sounds awesome, I've never been there and have always wanted to see it. In europe I've been to London, Zurich, Rome and Munich.

Basically I enjoy doing the usual sightseeing things, am not overly keen on public buses for some reason but love taking trains. I really like trying local beers, and to me the friendliness of a city's people make or break the place.

Hey grasshopper, that virtual tourist thing sounds awesome, if I could get a host I'd be all over it! Any chance you can put me in touch?
