2for1 attractions in London
 

I know that I've seen this mentioned here before, but I thought I'd bring it up again for those of you who might be traveling to London soon. Definitely check out the Days Out Guide 2for1 specials: http://www.2for1entry.co.uk/ to get discounts on entry to some of London's major attractions. Now, I don't work for this company or anything, so this is not a plug for them. But when I was planning my trip to London last year, I saw this mentioned on Fodor's at the last minute before our trip and I'm so glad that I checked it out. I was a little skeptical at first, but it really saved my DH and I a lot of money! Plus, you do not have to reserve anything in advance, you can just print out the 2 for 1 vouchers and present them at the ticket booth for each attraction. Considering how expensive it can be to enjoy all that London has to offer, I hope someone finds this info to be helpful!

The vouchers available right now read 03/06/06 through 04/06/07 or something like that. Since I'm going in mid-late June, I sure hope they extend/renew them!

I'm subscribed for an automatic mailing when those offers are extended. I just received a new email today. Guess what, most of the dates on today's mailing expired March 6. Do you think they made a mistake? LOL

No it's because the dates are in DD/MM/YY format

Do they usually extend these vouchers to include the busy summer months, or am I most likely out of luck?

I missed the 2006 part, so it looked like Feb. 6 to March 6 to me. Duh. Sorry about that.

crazy4Hawaii, the current deals have been running since June last year - as NeoPatrick points out. So the odds are that there will be 2-4-1's from June, but what they'll be no-one currently knows

You know that's what I thought. Since the current vouchers seem to cover a full year, I figured it should work out. But I guess it depends on when they decide to do the extending. Last summer, I remember a lot of people were posting on another site that they missed out on it somehow...

I'll be in London with my DH, daughter, son and two grandsons in April. I'd love to take advantage of this, but it appears you have to present a train ticket. The only train tickets we'll have will be for the Eurostar that we're taking to Paris the following week.

Am I reading this correctly?

I must be an idiot. On the website 2for1, where do you register? It asks for member login and a password? Even if I accomplish printing out passes, do you have to show a train ticket to somewhere or can you use a 7 day travelcard?

To register - Home page under the box marked "Login now" there's a line that starts "register here".

London travelcards are valid for 2-4-1

I just returned from London yesterday. I saved a great deal by using the 2 for 1 offers (Westminster Abbey, Hampton Court, Tower of London). I had a train ticket for the Gatwick Express (also purchased on a 2 for 1 deal) used on my day of arrival which I displayed when purchasing admission tickets. I was not sure if it would matter that my train ticket was not for the same day as the admission. Super savings! Thanks to those of Fodors who posted this information.

So my Gatwick express tickets will work being shown with the tickets I printed off for attractions, even if I go to the attractions on days other then the one I came in on the express?

I've used these coupons in the past a number of times. I carried around a used train ticket from a day trip out of the city. Never once did anyone ask to see it. Someone else said all you need is a single Underground ticket. I don't know about that, but no one seemed to care about the train ticket, period.

When we got the 2for1 discounts last January, we showed our Heathrow Express ticket, but I do believe that you can show an Underground ticket as well. Some places didn't even ask to see a train ticket though, they just took my word for it.

I have a two day London Plus flexipass. Will this work for the 2 for 1 offers? Do I have to print something off the site. Some sites (like Anne Hathaway cottage) tell about the attraction, but don't give a link to print a voucher or ticket or anything.

Thanks for bringing this up again, Carlyshells. I've already printed out 2for1 vouchers for most of the major attractions we are planning to visit, and with 8 people in our group, this represents a tidy savings. Can't wait to start using them on Thursday!

Brockbank - I would guess that your London flexipass would be valid for the discounts. I've only used these vouchers once, but I had to register on the website and then choose the attractions I wanted to print out vouchers for. I'm not sure about attractions that don't give an option to print a voucher though. You might want to call them and ask.

capmunn and MelJ - Have a great time in London! The 2for1 really is a great deal and I'm glad that people are able to take advantage of it.

I went to Hampton Court Palace last week. I told the lady at the ticket desk I wanted to avail the 2 for 1 ticket via train price. She didn't even ask to see my ticket.
