25th anniversary trip

My husband and I would like to take a trip to Europe in early January. Our honeymoon was in Rome/Florence in January - when it snowed > 6 inches for the first time in 50 years. It made an interesting trip with very quiet museums, etc... which was fun - but this time I would like to be prepared with warmer clothes. I have also spent spring in Madrid/Seville and would like to go somewhere new and not TOO cold (40's-60's F). Any suggestions?

One year I spent a week in Antibes in January. It was not too cold and mostly sunny. We wore light jackets but had to take them off at times when taking some long walks.
We decided on Antibes after researching temperature averages in several places and indoor sites (museums, etc) which appealed to us. It was a great trip.

Hi EM,

Congratulations on 25 years.

You don't want to relive your honeymoon trip?

January is Summertime in Argentina and Chile.

Thanks Judy & Ira!
Antibes sounds interesting... where did you stay?
I do want to pass on the tire chains, closed roads and cancelled trains this time - though I do have amazing photos of the frozen Trevi fountain and snow covered Coliseum.
Argentina & Chile are good ideas ... Time to do more homework.

We stayed in an apartment, eyemom. www.azuremaison.com There were 4 of it so it was perfect, though probably larger than what 2 people would need. Even in January, we spent some time every day on the terrace.
