24 days till Paris - a last minute question

Hi Fodorites, Less than 4 weeks until we leave for Paris and its time to start addressing some of the niggling details. From a number of posts on this board, I believe the difference in cost between a shuttle for two, or a taxi, from CDG to Paris on a Saturday morning is negligible. (We've taken the RER before, but due to more luggage this trip, we've nixed that idea) However, just so we have a frame of reference, would appreciate if any can advise a ballpark estimate for cost of a taxi to the 7th (rue Bertueil). Merci!

Hi E,

Shuttle will be about 38E for two, cab about 55, unless the cab gets caught in traffic.

I'm going ot Paris in December and have a follow-up question to this poster's ----

Is it better to take the RER to Cluny La Sorbonne from CDG than taxi if we're coming in at 7:30AM on a Wed? (Concerned about rush hour traffic.) Are there lots of steps (schlepping of luggage)?

St Michel/Cluny Sorbonne would be a good choice. Based on rush hour arrival, you will get to Paris faster. There were not a lot of steps, except if you want to walk from the RER station to the connected Metro station, which is a few blocks underground (much nicer to walk above ground).

Do y ou know what cross streets the exit of the RER at Cluny leaves you? We are staying at Hotel du College de France on Rue Thebard.

Rue Thenard is just two short blocks down St. Germain. An easy walk, even with luggage.

Cluny will however require that you walk up the last flight of steps to street level -- no escalator at that exit.

ElleD9...Try Yellow van Shuttle. http://www.yellowvanshuttle.com/en/i...age=tarifs.php I have used them in the past and they are reliable and reasonable. 36E for two people to the 7th.

We went from the 7th to CDG this past Friday for 40 euros in a metered cab

For Thnard, if you exit St Michel RER (at Seine) you go down rue St Jacques about 2 city blocks to St Germain, the street is one block east. If you exit Metro station Cluny Sorbonne, you are at St Michel and St Germain intersection. Head east on St Geramin to your street , about 3 city blocks

joeyrm 7 - What time did you get in? Again, i'm thinking about possible rush hour traffic and how long that will make the trip take from CDG to Center of Paris.

Michel_Paris - Is there an escalator to the street from the St Michele exit of the RER?

Kenay

We left Paris (St Germain)at 10:00am on a Friday. Plenty of traffic but took about 50 minutes. When we came in it was on a Sunday and it was less than 30 minutes

Anyone come into Paris from CGD on a weekday morning?
