20th anniversary in Europe?
 

My husband and I are planning a 20th anniversary vacation in Europe in Nov. His first time to Europe. We are considering splitting the week in London and Paris. Any suggestions on where to stay and itinerary? We want to do the usual tourist stuff and any other special ideas.

Should we assume that you have been to Paris and/or London? If so, do you have ideas about what you'd like to see or do? Do you love to have wonderful meals and great wine, or do you like to traipse on your own through great cities, or do you want to have a list of museums, churches, shops, etc. to go to? Do you like chain-type hotels or prefer boutique hotels? Any particular parts of London or Paris that you want to rest your sleepy heads? Any idea of how you want to split your time between the two great cities - half and half?

I guess I'm suggesting that if you give a little more information (not simply the duration and price-point for a hotel) we might be more useful to you. I haven't been to London for over 40 years, but have spent some time in Paris. There are lots of people here who have lots of experience and expertise for both cities, but I'm not sure where they could begin to help you.

Do this the easy way: go online to Go-today.com. They have flight-hotel packages for London-Paris combo that are tough to beat. The best combination of package/independent travel. I love NOV travel in Europe. Think layers (clothing!).

Have you checked the weather for both cities in November?

Be sure to read the thread from this morning about "other" things to do in London. It seems "exhaustive" (and maybe exhausting, too LOL), but it will definitely give you ideas about things to do even if you haven't started thinking about that yet.

It doesn't sound like henmel is going to Europe for the weather, so you go girl! I have been to London in Feb and both Rome and Paris in Nov. I LOVED IT! If I had listened to some I would have gone when I could get a suntan while getting squeezed by the crowds....no, thanks.

There is no such thing as cold weather, only bad clothing. :-D

Fly into London and out of Paris.

Split the time 50/50.

We always stay at the Hotel Bonaparte, 61 Rue Bonaparte in the 6th. From 134E dbl w/bkfst. It is just around the corner from Place St. Sulpice, near 3 metro stops and 4 bus routes. Has AC and an elevator.

The staff speaks English well, and is very helpful.
