For easter we're well below 15ºC, which is the ideal temperature for tulips to flower. Usually, the flowers get taken off beginning of may. It's a bit of a gamble of course, but I think you'll be able to see them on the field all right.

Yippee! Hopefully that will happen, regardless, it will be beautiful in Amsterdam!

There's some grumbling because Easter is below par, weather-wise. For many people it's their spring holiday (followed by the may holiday, which may take two weeks for a lot of people) Next: King's day.

Following.
Thank you for your posts and the replies.
We will be in Amsterdam next week. We, too, are crossing our fingers for fields still in bloom.
We arrive a day before King's day. We are thinking of trying to go straight to Keukenhof and the fields from the airport. Our flight arrives at 8:30am . Can't check into our hotel anyway.

There are a lot of fields in full bloom right now. We were enjoying some of them driving through Flevoland yesterday. We didn't stop to view them because the weather was horrible. Sunshine today but still cold, and other appointments so no time to go back. Maybe we'll have time tomorrow if it doesn't rain.
The forecast is for it to remain cold until the end of April.
Bring warm(ish) clothes!

I visited Keukenhof yesterday, and it was gorgeous. Some sections were not at full growth yet, so blooms should last quite a while. Fields visible from the road were in full bloom.

I agree with the suggestion to bring warm clothes. The wind really increases the chill factor.

Thank you for mention of the weather. I have been looking at the averages and forecasts, but I live in a desert climate and while I am used to very cold temperatures in the Rocky Mountains, I am not used to humidity which certainly can change the "feel".

Hoping early May will warm up a bit!

I was planning for tee shirts, a couple of warm sweaters for layering options and a rain coat. Do I need more warmth?
